Siren-the-Saviour is an Emergency messaging Service.

 

Why was Siren-the-Savior facility created?

 

Many people come across or land up in unforeseen situations some of which can be emergencies. Due to sudden occurrence of these emergency situations a person is caught un-aware and his / her anxiety level is very high. Observation shown that during such anxious situation, person tends to forget things which he / she typically remembers, feels loss of strength even if he / she is capable of handling situations and tends to believe that he / she needs help. During such situations a simple facility which can enable seeking help is welcome.

Siren the Saviour is created to enable a person to seek help by just press of a single button. This service facilitates conveying of emergency messages initiated from a enlisted subscriber to his / her pre-defined confidents. This is achieved through blended use of telecommunication and software technologies while keeping a scope for further human initiatives for Care for People !

An emergency comes generally without any alert and during emergency one find it difficult to QUICKLY REACH PEOPLE WHO CAN HELP.

If a facility / mechanism is available to such person to send a emergency alert to people whop care for him / her, one is able to seek quick help. Thanks to spread of telecom network in the world, land line phones / mobile phones are available at most remote places. If a facility is created to seek help by emergency message conveying by minimal effort its would help many.

With land line / mobiles in hand a simple PRESS OF A BUTTON appears such action doable even during emergencies.

Practically everyone can get benefited by use of this service during emergency. While it was initiated to benefit working ladies, senior citizen, outstation students , people staying along at home and frequent travelers, it has been observed that each person who uses mobile / land- ine phone can avail of this facility. As it take into account a large strata of people the pricing has been created to make it affordable for each section of society who makes use of telephony mobile or land-lines.

Any one who uses a push button phone land-line / mobile phone with identified number.

 

How does it actually work?

 

One subscribes to this service by subscriber filling up a small form & making payment. In the form one specifies own number, confidant’s 3 numbers.

We convey to subscriber an UAN ( Universally Accessible telephone Number ). Subscriber saves this number on subscribed phone number mobile / land line.

Subscriber configures a speed dial number for our emergency number on subscribed mobile / land line phone instrument.

This Emergency Number is connected with our Siren-the Saviour Servers working round the clock 24x& basis.

When the system gets a call from your specified subscribed number, a software connected with our phone is activated and your pre-defined messages are instantly sent to your defined contact numbers conveying your emergency alert.

 

Can I avail of this service using any mobile phone model?

 

Yes.

 

Can I avail of this service using any telecom service provider?

Does it operate even from a land line?

Does the service run with all mobile or landline instruments?

What if I (user) travel within the country or out of country?

 

The facility can also work for you even if you are abroad provided you have a international roaming facility and are able to give a call to our provided emergency number ( UAN: Universal Access Number).

 

Does it work where there is no mobile network coverage?

 

If your registered number is a land line, the facility will work for you but if your registered subscriber number is a mobile number, then you need to be within a mobile network coverage zone.

 

What type of emergency messages is sent?

 

A text message is sent to your three contacts such as :

Your Name ( Your Subscribed Number ) is facing an emergency. Please ring up & extend HELP.

 

Does the software pin-point location of the user, via the emergency message?

 

No it does not however, we do send a message to user requesting for location if user is in position to inform the same. If these details are received we can forward the same to the three contacts.

Siren-on-Mobile is another software developed by Softspin which needs to be loaded on ( Series 60 2nd & 3rd Edition ) handsets. The software also triggers 3 alert messages directly from mobile handsets along with technical co-ordinates such as Country ID, Tower ( cell ) ID, Network ID & Service Provider’s name.

 

To how many people can message for my emergency sent?

 

Typically to your 3 ( three ) emergency contacts.

 

Can we send SMS to more than 3 numbers?

 

Yes! If you have availed of special schemes by paying the extra charges.

 

Can the message to my emergency contact sent repeatedly?

 

Not at present but in our new version of the facility we would be providing for this facility as well at an additional charge.

 

What if an emergency contact defined, is of another state or country?

 

There is no problem if the contact is in another state ( In India ). Messages can go. The messages can also be sent to oversea contact mobile number if it is pre-defined at the time of subscription along with payment of additional charges.

 

What if an emergency contact defined, travels within the country or out of it?

 

If emergency contact travels within country there is no problem, messages will reach. However, if the emergency contact has traveled overseas, some additional charges needs to be paid by subscriber as the messaging rates are higher than national messaging rates.

 

Can we give our family physician’s no. as one of the emergency contact number?

 

Yes you can but we strongly recommend to inform / seek permission of all such persons whose numbers you are giving as your emergency contacts. It is subscriber’s responsibility to obtain any such permission and absolve Softspin of any nuisance / litigation from such emergency contacts. Softspin is strictly acting on behalf of subscriber’s instructions.

 

Can the emergency contact numbers declared while registering, be changed?

 

Yes at an additional charge beyond identified number of changes.

 

Can the emergency alert message defined in the software be changed?

 

Yes at an additional charge beyond identified number of changes.

 

Can a subscription be transferred to another mobile or landline number?

 

Yes at an additional charge beyond identified number of changes.

 

Is it possible to change and customize these numbers / your pre-defined messages?

 

Yes ! Three ( 3 ) Changes in a year are free. For any further change of your contact details / message details more than thrice during an year, a notional fee of Rs 9 / change is debited.

When you change any of your contact details / message details more than thrice during an year, a notional charge of Rs 9 / change is added.

 

Where and how do I subscribe for this service?

 

From web-site, in person or by our distribution associates & channel partners. A list of such partners for your area can be found from our web-site.

 

What is the fee structure for subscribing to these services?

 

Rs 200/- towards one in life-time registration charge per subscribed phone number. 
Plus
Rs 10 per month payable annually i.e. Rs 120/year
&
Rs 9 per emergency alert received from subscribed mobile and processed by us.

 

Are there any other costs to me other than the initialization charges/ month subscription of Rs10?

 

Any calls you make to us on our specified number will be chargeable calls as per your subscription plans from your telecom service providers.

This however will be strictly as per the usage in case of your emergency. There are no hidden costs / other costs.

 

How and where do I make the payments?

 

1) Through web using your credit cards.
2) By sending a crossed cheque in favour of Softspin Services Pvt. Ltd.
3) By making similar payments to our authorized channel / distribution partners.
4) We are also working on mobile SMS based payment system which is expected to be operational shortly.

 

Are there any refunds in case the service is terminated?

 

Yes you can get pro-rata if you are not satisfied with the service, you from Softspin office on completion of refund formalities.

 

Who will help me install the speed dial number and get trained on the process?

 

Although this is extremely simple to use, Softspin has also created a telephone based HELPDESK which can guide you in this. Alternately all our distribution associates / channel partners can help you with this.

NO ! Softspin service is restricted to conveying your emergency message to your pre-defined numbers by text message / voice message making use of available running telecom service network.

Does Softspin guarantee this passing on of my emergency to my people who care for me?

 

Yes our service will get activated even with your missed call / sms and further messaging will be taking place without going into details of type of your emergency.

We do not guarantee for the help / service which your emergency contact may bring to you or otherwise.

SOFTSPIN’s attempts will be transparently verifiable by a third party and if it is found that any lapse has taken place on our behalf, your annual subscription for the balance months will be returned back.

 

Do you recommend any medical / security / travel service providers who are available for help during my emergencies?

 

No presently we don’t ! However, there are multiple hospitals, travel agencies, security service providers which are listed with us - list is available at our web-site under partners.

You can choose their contact number or directly connect with them to enter into a arrangement with them to help you during your emergencies.

Any such agencies number included in your emergency contact will be treated at par with any other numbers you provide. We are not liable for their actions/ timeliness of their actions.
